About CodeCraftCreate Foundation

Our Mission

The mission of the CodeCraftCreate Foundation is to expand access to high-quality STEM education across the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia by providing scholarships, educational programs, and community initiatives that empower learners of all ages. Through hands-on learning experiences and partnerships with schools, educators, industry leaders, and public safety organizations, we foster innovation, critical thinking, digital literacy, and safe technology practices.

 The CodeCraftCreate Foundation envisions a thriving Eastern Panhandle where every learner, regardless of background or financial circumstance, has the opportunity to explore STEM, develop meaningful technical skills, and navigate the digital world safely and responsibly. Through collaboration with local schools, community partners, and industry, we strive to build a more innovative, informed, and technologically empowered region.

Sonia Ala - President

 Sonia is an EdTech entrepreneur and STEM curriculum designer dedicated to creating pathways into robotics, engineering, automation, and semiconductor technology. She is the founder of Mountain View Education & Technology, an instructional design and educational consulting company that develops industry aligned curriculum and digital lear

 Sonia is an EdTech entrepreneur and STEM curriculum designer dedicated to creating pathways into robotics, engineering, automation, and semiconductor technology. She is the founder of Mountain View Education & Technology, an instructional design and educational consulting company that develops industry aligned curriculum and digital learning systems for schools and workforce partners nationwide. Sonia also founded STEMForce Academy, a K to 12 STEM center in West Virginia, and the CodeCraftCreate Foundation to expand access to hands-on STEM education through scholarships and community programs. 

Krishna Pillai - Vice President

 Krishna is an advanced manufacturing professional with training from the Advanced Manufacturing Technology program at Manatee Technical College. His technical experience includes CNC machining, laser cutting, 3D printing, flexible manufacturing systems, automation, collaborative robotics, sensors, actuators, and industrial software platf

 Krishna is an advanced manufacturing professional with training from the Advanced Manufacturing Technology program at Manatee Technical College. His technical experience includes CNC machining, laser cutting, 3D printing, flexible manufacturing systems, automation, collaborative robotics, sensors, actuators, and industrial software platforms. He also holds a SolidWorks Associate Certification. In addition to his technical background, Krishna has studied Political Science and is passionate about promoting ethical leadership and responsible decision making in the education and workforce development space.

She currently serves as a Finance Manager at GovCIO, supporting financial operations and strategic planning for several government agencies. Throughout her career, she has worked in financial planning, project accounting, and

Malissa is passionate about building strong financial systems and enjoys collaborating with others to support meaningful work in the community.

She brings a disciplined and detail-oriented approach to managing complex projects, with strengths in strategic planning, financial oversight, and operational efficiency. Known for her analytical mindset and strong organizational skills, Vicky is committed to ensuring projects are executed effectively while maintaining clear structure and accountability. In her role as Secretary, she supports the Foundation through accurate recordkeeping, organization, and strong governance practices.

After advancing her event coordination skills in LEGOLAND Florida and a stint in New York City, Kim moved to West Virginia, where she now runs a successful event planning and floral design business. Alongside her family, Kim co-owns Varsity Travel, managing a comprehensive transportation company and creating unique experiences for weddings and local events in Kearneysville, WV.

A U.S. Army veteran, Tyler previously served as a convoy driver in Afghanistan, an experience that shaped his discipline, leadership, and commitment to safety. In additi

 Tyler is the co-owner of Varsity Travel, a veteran-owned transportation company serving schools, universities, and communities throughout the Northern Shenandoah Valley. A U.S. Army veteran, Tyler previously served as a convoy driver in Afghanistan, an experience that shaped his discipline, leadership, and commitment to safety. In addition to his work in transportation, he is deeply involved in community service, including volunteering with the West Virginia CASA Association as an advocate for children in the foster care system. Through his role with the CodeCraftCreate Foundation, Tyler is passionate about building community partnerships and helping expand access to meaningful educational opportunities for students and families.
